Allison Pehleman

Account Management Operations Coordinator.

Calgary born and Vancouver raised, Allison is a multi-faceted creative with a strong background in marketing and operations. She has worked in many sectors, including Media Arts, Real Estate, Medical, Education, and Hospitality. Allison graduated from VanArts Institute Game Art & Design program in 2014 and has worked on a few local tv and game productions. Allison takes pride in working with local companies and charities that focus on the wellness of those who live in the DTES. One of her favourite projects was designing educational pamphlets with the S.W.A.N. Society in Vancouver, a charity and non-profit society that provides a safe environment and support for women working in the sex industry.

 

Allison is also a local entrepreneur, and is a director of ‘Last Straw Co’, a glass straw supplier for the hospitality industry. After a few years working on independent contracts, Allison recognised a lack of corporate culture, and has joined us in a newly created role of Account Management Operations Coordinator.

 

When not at work, Allison is championing for the planet with her straws, engaging in shore cleanups, and nurtures her creative side working on her performances as a local burlesque dancer and visual artist. From watercolour to interactive theatre, Allison explores way to share her joy and creativity with the world.

Amanda Kay

Amanda is a creative person who loves to learn and finds adventure in a good challenge. She has a diverse writing background and lends this expertise to support the team with our Evergreen content. In her free time, you can find her working on her two side businesses, blogging, reading, and exploring the outdoors.

Ashley has a background in journalism with professional experience in print and digital production. She is focused on creating stronger organization and effective communication among and between teams to efficiently meet goals and complete tasks.

Bryan Mc Govern

Staff Writer

Originally from Mexico, Bryan moved to Vancouver and obtained a diploma in journalism from Langara College. He covers Life Science for Investing News Network. You can usually find him watching basketball or trying to finish news magazines.

Carl Hermansen

Strategic Account Manager

Carl is a design specialist with a background in both hospitality & retail management, as well as sales and marketing. He has an in-depth knowledge of the cannabis world from branding to retail growth to medicinal properties and values. He is Vancouver born and raised, having spent time abroad studying in Europe. In his spare time, he enjoys writing and tending to his expanding cactus collection. 

Carlo Yau

Client Development Manager

Carlo is a seasoned finance/banking professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, especially in tech.  Prior to joining INN, Carlo along with a few of his friends founded a consultant firm with an emphasis on raising capital for tech start-ups.  When not at work, you will most likely see him immersed in everything relating to sports... especially Fantasy sports!  Aside from that, he enjoys traveling to different places around the world with his wife and create memories along the way.    

Editorial Director

A Vancouver native, Charlotte has a BA in English and a Certificate in Editing from Simon Fraser University. She has an eye for detail and is passionate about creating and curating great content.

 

Charlotte began working at the Investing News Network in the spring of 2012 as editorial assistant and has been hooked on mining since then. She's now managing editor for the resource side of the site and is always interested in hearing the latest mining news (and gossip).

Co-Founder, CSO

Christopher oversees the client development and client services team at INN. IN 2007, Chris co founded Dig Media, INN’s parent company, with Nick Smith and Mike Rodger.
 

Prior to Dig Media, Christopher was a Publisher with Kyoto publishing and led two thought leadership publications, ‘The Sustainable Enterprise Report’ and ‘Government by Example with Deloitte’, to market.
 

Before Kyoto Publishing, he was a senior client development manager with LinkShare, a Rakuten company where he consulted with the Internet’s largest retailers to assist them become more profitable using LinkShare’s performance marketing solutions.
 

In 1999, Christopher was recruited to join Montgomery Research. At Montgomery Research, Christopher climbed through the ranks working on thought leadership projects. In 2004, he and Nick Smith launched Revenue – The Performance Marketing Standard, an industry leading affiliate-marketing publication that took profit within its first year. In 2005, Christopher assumed the role of publisher and further developed the magazine’s online properties and grew revenue streams and profits. 
 

He was at the heart of the IPO phenomenon with Media Metrix, where Christopher worked as sales director selling Internet audience measurement data to all the Internet start ups and businesses across North America.
 

Prior to moving west from Florida to San Francisco, Christopher commenced his career as a marketing director of the largest catamaran yacht dealership in North America.
 

Christopher holds a business administration degree from the University of Florida. 

Danielle Adams

Client Content Writer

Danielle has a BA in English from the University of Lethbridge. She has recently just moved to Vancouver and is loving the lack of snow on the ground. Danielle is an avid reader and writer. If you don't find her doing either of those things, then you can catch her on the beach, practicing yoga or hiking. 

Danielle Edwards

Danielle is a reporter with INN. She graduated from the Master of Journalism program at Carleton University after completing her undergraduate degree in Media Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber. She's written for the Globe and Mail, the Canadian Press, the National Post and the Brampton Guardian. She spends her time covering the cannabis market for INN.

Dorothy Nuefeld

Dorothy is a tech writer with Investing News Network. She has previously published in Investopedia, VancouverValueInvesting, Discorder and Dine Magazine. She is passionate about the fundamentals of investing with a focus on women in tech. Previously at RBC Dominion Securities, she maintained and traded on a number of asset pools worth approximately $100 million.

Everett Tang

Digital Publishing Production Assistant

Everett is our newest Digital Publishing Production Assistant with nearly 10 years of education from both Simon Fraser University and BCIT. He came to us after spending a few years in the Digital Marketing space working for agencies all over Vancouver.

 

Everett is an avid boardgamer and when not at work, can be found working through his reading list, walking his dog through the West End, or begging his friends to playtest his home-brewed D&D campaign.

Georgia Williams

Originally from Calgary, Georgia has been right at home in Toronto for more than a two decades. Graduating from UofT with a BA in Journalism she is passionate about writing on diverse topics, including resources, arts, politics and social issues. In her spare time, Georgia enjoys experiencing Toronto’s vibrant food, arts and culture scene.

Jessica Lintlop

Strategic Account Managment

Jessica is a Toronto native and has a BSc in psychology and anthropology from UofT. She has an employment background in finance at Edward Jones and event coordination in corporate events and weddings.   

 

When not working, Jessica can be found enjoying a glass or two with friends at a new restaurant, binging on a Netflix murder series, or staying active playing volleyball.

Managing Editor - Tech and Life Science

Jocelyn always knew she wanted to be a journalist, although it took her a little time getting there. Before following her dream, Jocelyn spent several years working as a legal assistant before making the leap to go back to school. Jocelyn completed the two-year journalism diploma program at Langara College before joining Investing News Network and interned at The Georgia Straight. Over the years, Jocelyn has developed a passion for social and neighbourhood issues, municipal politics and providing a voice to those who want to tell their stories.

Jocelyn joined INN in May 2016 and is driven on curating quality content for its readers.

 

When she's not writing, Jocelyn can usually be found watching sports, spending too much time finding something to watch on Netflix, and reading.

John Seaward

Accounting and Accounts Receivable Assistant

John was born and raised in Vancouver. He graduated from BCIT with a Bachelor of Technology in Accounting. Prior to working at Investing News Network, he was the Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist at BSM Technologies. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing Brazilian jujitsu and going to the gym.

Jonathan Holmes is a sales and marketing professional with over 6 years of experience working for online companies. Jonathan started his career working for a start-up job board where he created their first company newsletter and initiated a strategic Facebook marketing campaign. He has worked at industry leading companies like 1-800 Got-Junk, where he developed into a team leader, worked on their social media committee, and captained the first outbound sales program.

 

He got his first taste of online publishing with a free Wordpress blog created to capture a backpacking experience around Costa Rica. He was instantly hooked on Wordpress, and considers it the greatest open source platform ever created. Social media became a part of everyday life, spending countless hours stumbling through the Blogosphere connecting with bloggers, artists, and media gurus. He is always on the hunt for the latest SEO trends and new social media platforms. At last count, his blog had over 5000 subscribers, 4,848 Twitter followers, and 4,557 Facebook fans. He is also a volunteer high school football coach and makes a yearly pilgrimage to Touchdown Jesus in Notre Dame.

 

On the lighter side of things - Years ago he discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. He is a private citizen, yet receives fan mail. He was caller number nine and won the weekend passes. He also makes an extraordinary four-course meal using only a mouli and a toaster oven. He is an expert in Stucco, a veteran in love and an outlaw in Peru.

Kevin Vanstone

Kevin Vanstone is a passionate creative born and raised in beautiful British Columbia. As a young writer, Kevin got his start writing about the Vancouver Canucks for a number of online publications. After spending time as a journalist covering music, technology, and culture for LYFSTYL Magazine, Kevin pivoted to work with RTrade Technologies, a local cryptocurrency company. On weekends Kevin can be found enjoying good food, good music, and good conversation. 

Joseph Keller

Joseph Keller was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. He holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Before coming to Investing News Network he was a staff writer at The Runner, KPU's student-owned publication. Joseph is an avid hiker and a very sad Canucks fan.

Lauren Kelly

Editorial Assistant

Lauren is INN’s Editorial Assistant and was born in raised in the Lower Mainland. She gained her education through Douglas College’s Professional Writing program as well as SFU’s Editing certificate program. She has spent many years as part of the team at the Douglas College newspaper The Other Press, including a term as Editor-in-Chief. In her spare time, she plays games with friends, watches Big Brother and follows the Canucks.

Lisa Da Silva

Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Elizangela moved to Vancouver 5 years ago to pursue her masters in Marketing at Langara College. While she was working for Reckitt Benckiser (Brasil) LTDA, it was there she gained several years of valuable marketing and sales experience.

 

Her competitive edge in her industry is that she believes the world is a canvas for our imagination and that people thrive on enhancing relations, learning new stories and experiencing the magic of the world through a human-to-human connection. This belief has enhanced her nature to seek and constantly evolve.

 

Things she’s passionate about: A constant craving for the exploration of open spaces and the thirst for more knowledge, a good cup of coffee and ice cream and croissant too ;) 

Martin Guinto

Client Development Manager

Martin is our newest Client Development Manager on the team. He has previous business development experience in online advertising collaborating with public companies, consumer brands, online magazines, and affiliate advertisers. He has got a tremendous interest in the Jr. Mining industry with a focus on Au, Ag, Cu, U, and V. As a fan of scientific advancements, he’s also keen on the growth of Bio-tech that’s related to Oncology, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and blood pressure.

In his spare time Martin enjoys playing and watching basketball/football, hiking, hosting supper for his friends and family, and enjoying the textures of life.  

Max Wittig

Videographer

Max Wittig is a Videographer based in Vancouver with a background in Film Production. Born in Thailand and being raised German, Max moved to Vancouver in 2015 where he found his place in a passionate film making community. He very much enjoys being a part of a collaborative effort and he strives to create engaging and interesting video content which he and his collaborators can be proud of. If he’s not currently working on a video, you’ll find him at the same desk watching Friends for the 10th time through or drinking his 4th coffee of the day at a secluded, independent coffee shop.

Senior Content Writer

Melissa Pistilli has been reporting on market-shaking news in the resource and mining investment sector for over five years and has been with the Investing News Network since 2008. She has written on a wide variety of topics, from managing political risk in the mining industry to manipulation in the silver market. Formerly the managing editor of the Investing News Network, Melissa now serves as a senior reporter writing for Lithium Investing News and Uranium Investing News. She is most interested in the impact of global economics, politics and sociocultural influences on the commodities markets, and this shows in her reporting. Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in English education as well as a master’s degree in teaching of writing, both from Humboldt State University, California. She currently resides at the heart of Canada’s mining industry — Vancouver, British Columbia.

Mike was one of the first employees with Longview Capital Partners and helped build the team of investor relations professionals that worked with that company’s investee companies. He saw a lack of independent, unbiased media in the exploration/mining market. When approached to work on the site U3O8.biz, he saw the opportunity to provide that model to the market.

 

Previously, Mike was an active member of Vancouver’s high-tech industry for 15 years, building sales and marketing teams and helping companies manage significant growth. These companies have been recognized as among the fastest growing in Canada, and have won numerous awards, including the BC Export Award and Deloitte’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies. Mike was awarded the Business in Vancouver Forty under 40 in 2004 for his role in helping build three separate rapidly-growing high-tech companies.

Nataly Cure

Digital Publishing Production Assistant

Nataly is originally from Colombia and grew up in Canada. She returned to Colombia where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in TV and Radio Production from the Universidad Autónoma Del Caribe. During her studies she was granted a media scholarship to complete a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús. She is passionate about all things media and loves learning how the industry differs around the world. Nataly is now based in Toronto and has gained professional experience in television broadcasting and commercial production. When Nataly is not at work you can find her at the movies, signing up for random activities around the city, trying out new restaurants or researching her next travel adventure.

Nick Smith has more than 15 years of publishing experience and he has consulted for several publishing groups over the last three years on topics of sales, marketing, distribution, and process. In 2007, Smith accepted the challenge of leading KP Publishing. Prior to that, Smith founded and served as CEO of Montgomery Media International in 2002. This new media company addressed new markets such as internet advertising with innovative design, content, and distribution models. In 1996, Smith was involved in the founding of a thought leadership publishing company in San Francisco, California. As publisher, he established and managed relationships with companies, including Accenture, IBM, Microsoft and Intel. The business model included working with consultants, analysts, academics, Global 2000 executives and leading technology companies. Project focus included: supply chain, customer relationship management, energy and utilities, and the public sector. Starting his career in London, Smith worked on sports- focused consumer publications in partnership with celebrities, including Lord Sebastian Coe and Tony Jacklin.

 

Although he resides in San Francisco, California, Nick is frequently in Vancouver for business. Occasionally, Nick will forgo the great service of Air Canada and take the coast road up on his KTM Superduke.

Nicole Rashotte

Hailing from a small city east of Toronto, Nicole has called T.O. home for the last 9 years. Nicole has BA in Media Studies, a postgrad in Public Relations and holds a diverse writing portfolio (covering topics such as finance, lifestyle, and travel - to name a few). When Nicole isn't covering resource news for INN, she can be found forcing her dog into snuggles and binging on real-life murder mystery podcasts.

Peter Greenfield

Strategic Account Manager

Peter is an accomplished sales and finance professional and a passionate investment connoisseur. He worked as a Financial Advisor and loans officer for six years helping clients from all walks of life buy homes and build financial security. 

 

He thrives on giving exceptional and consistent customer service while keeping a positive, good-humoured attitude. Peter values optimism, honesty and strong personal relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in marketing from the University of Guelph and enjoys playing basketball, volleyball and watching stand-up comedy.

Production Manager

Pia serves as a bridge between sales, clients, and the development team, ensuring that products are delivered on time and on spec. Since moving to Vancouver in 2005, she has been in project and client account management roles, including running web and print campaigns from inception to completion. She was the first production manager at Dig Media in 2008; she left briefly, but rejoined the company in 2011. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of the Philippines.

Priscila Barrera

Managing Editor - Resources

Priscila is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she earned a BA in Communications at Universidad de San Andres. She moved to Vancouver for the first time in 2010 and fell in love with the city. A few years after she went to London, UK, to study a MA in Journalism at Kingston University and came back in 2016. She enjoys reading, drinking coffee and travelling.

Rachel Meadow

Office and HR Assistant

Rachel Meadow is originally from Calgary, Alberta and moved to Vancouver to attend university. She graduated from UBC’s Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Human Resources and Marketing. Rachel has a passion for travelling as she loves learning about different cultures and cuisines.

Rachel is one of the newest members of our expanding team here at INN, working in the role of Office & HR assistant. She spends most of her free time working out and strength training, dancing in Zumba class, watching Netflix, and enjoys learning new recipes and cooking.

Sasha Dhesi

Staff Writer

Sasha Dhesi joined INN in late 2019 as a staff writer, mainly covering base metals, working out of the Toronto office. Before that, she worked as a student journalist for three years at McMaster's campus newspaper, the Silhouette, where she covered anything and everything, jumping between student union news, municipal politics and the growing food scene in Hamilton, Ontario. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Philosophy from McMaster University. 

When she's not at work, you can typically find Sasha trying new restaurants, attempting a new recipe, complaining about public transit or spending time with family and friends. 

Stephen O'Neill

Originally from Ireland, Stephen is an honours graduate of the Technological University of Dublin with a B.Sc. in Business & Management, majoring in Marketing and in particular its social & communications functions. Since leaving university, he has been balancing his passion for travel with exploring career interests and has spent the past 5 years working in Marketing & Advertising teams in a variety of industries in Canada, Ireland & Australia. 

 

Outside of work, Stephen can normally be found exploring the outdoors, snowboarding, bingeing Spotify playlists & exploring new destinations whenever possible.

Scott is originally from Melbourne, Australia, where he studied politics and journalism. He's spent the majority of his career working in Far North Queensland where he could pursue his love of the outdoors - the same passion that drew him to Vancouver where he now lives.

Experienced Software Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the Software World. Skilled in PHP, Codeigniter, My SQL. Versatile to new technologies with many-sidedness of job roles. 

Steph Craig

Content Marketer

Steph is an experienced digital marketer and content creator. She graduated with a bilingual BA in Economics from York University. Steph is well versed in the cannabis and blockchain sector, with an interest in emerging tech and regenerative economics. When she's not working Steph can be found painting and practicing yoga.

Tracy Ma

Accountant

Tracy Ma is the accountant at Dig Media Inc. Tracy is a CPA, CGA with over 15 years experience, providing accounting, bookkeeping, and tax consulting services to privately held businesses in various sectors in both Canada and the Hong Kong. Past experience includes 9 years of public practice in a local Vancouver CA Firm and a short internship with Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong.  During her spare time, she enjoys watching Korean drama and travelling with her husband.

Tyler Prue

Director of Strategic Accounts

Tyler has been involved in Sales and Relationship Management since he began his career just over a decade ago. In various roles, he has developed a knack for strategic analysis and implementing process to benefit both sides of the business equation. While expanding his repertoire of skills, experiences and qualifications he's constantly drawn to the personal elements of business;  sincere relationships and the value of integrity, honesty and trust.

 

Tyler joined INN in Oct 2016 in the role of Strategic Account Manager.

 

When not working, Tyler can be found creating interactive art projects, and helping foster a strong sense of community and inclusion.

Veronica Lee

CFO

Veronica is a Finance and Accounting professional with over 20 years of experience. Prior to Dig Media, Veronica was a Global Alliance Controller with experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and project finance in the biotechnology industry with Genentech. Previously, she was in investment banking with RBC Capital Markets in San Francisco, Audit and Business Advisory Services at PwC in the UK and Canada, and personal and commercial banking at CIBC.

 

Veronica holds a MBA degree from London Business School, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of British Columbia. She holds a CFA designation and a CPA, CA designation.
