Starting a new channel is something we consider carefully at INN. We need to balance business priorities like ROI and how to manage limited resources, against making sure we are bringing our investor audience the investment information and opportunities they need to know about.
There is significant editorial, technical, production and marketing activities that go into creating a new investing channel. One of the Editorial team needs to build a new network of experts that are specific to that channel. And that can be a significant challenge. Psychedelics is a good example: There are many experts who have been investigating and even practicing to determine the benefits of using psychedelics for things such as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), opioid addiction and depression. However, there are very few people who have investigated the investment opportunities that may exist and how to consider and evaluate the opportunities that exist.
For the INN's Technical team, some elements such as adding Psychedelics Investing to the navigation is relatively straight forward. But there are a myriad of other details including setting up topic specific newsletters and advertising spots, incorporating new news feeds and potentially redirecting old channels that are being deprecated.
For the people in the Production department there are new free reports to be produced and landing pages to set up. Marketing needs to not only make sure the investing audience knows that the new channel exists, but also make our client and prospects are aware.
And then there is the overarching management. Which, in the case of something like psychedelics, may include investigating regulatory issues because of differences between jurisdictions, as we saw with the cannabis investing world.
However, as we have seen with Numinus (TSXV:NUMI) and Red Light Holland Corp. (CSE:TRIP), the opportunity for investors could be significant. And the INN Sales team is in discussions with a number of groups who are looking to potentially bring other companies such as Universal Ibogaine to the public markets.
It was January 2019 when we first registered the domains relevant to psychedelic investing news (ibogaine, LSD, psilocybin etc.). I remember doing this based on a conversation around an article that Jay Martin from Cambridge House had sent out in September 2018. However, INN has over 500 domains on new investing topics that we don't currently cover. Deciding to focus on bringing psychedelic investing opportunities out our audience is not something we take lightly. However, we do believe that it will be good for our audience, the issuers and, for INN.
